PUBLICATION ETHICS STATEMENT


 

 

In order to maintain academic integrity and publication ethics, GEOLOGY AND EXPLORATION specifies the ethics statement for editors, authors and peer reviewers of this journal in accordance with the Copyright Law, domestic and foreign publishing ethics and other relevant provisions, and in combination with the actual situation of this journal. For more details, please refer to the Committee on Publication Ethics (cope, http://publicationethics.org/), the publication ethics formulated by the European Association of Scientific Editors (EASE) and the National News Publication Bureau of China.

1. Publication Ethics for Editors

(1) Editors should strictly abide by academic publication ethics and norms to ensure high-quality publication of papers.

(2) Editors should deal with authors manuscripts fairly, justly and timely, and should evaluate the content of articles only based on the importance, originality, scientificity, authenticity and whether it conforms to the purpose of the journal.

(3) Editors have the responsibility to avoid academic misconduct such as duplicate publication and plagiarism. Once there is an appeal of academic ethics, editors are obliged to investigate and communicate, and should publish a statement of correction, clarification, withdrawal or apology in a timely manner if necessary. Editors have the obligation to investigate the responsibility of the author and reviewer for their misconduct.

(4) Any information of the manuscript shall not be disclosed to anyone other than the corresponding author, peer reviewers and members of the editorial board.

2. Publication Ethics for Authors

(1) Authors should guarantee that the manuscript does not involve state secrets or any infringements related to intellectual property.

(2) Authors should ensure the originality and authenticity of the article, and put an end to academic misconduct such as duplication submission, repeated publication, inappropriate authorship, forgery and falsification, and plagiarism.

When plagiarism becomes evident post-publication, we may correct, retract or otherwise amend the original publication depending on the degree of plagiarism, context within the published article and its impact on the overall integrity of the published study. Authors of serious academic misconduct will be blacklisted and banned from publishing in the journal for two years.

(3) If any mistakes are found in the article, authors should inform the editorial board in time, and actively contact with the editors to cancel or correct the article.

(4) Any interest issues related to the acceptance and publication of articles by this journal shall be declared.

3. Publication Ethics for Peer Reviewers

(1) Peer reviewers should adhere to the principles of fairness, impartiality, confidentiality and timeliness, review the originality, authenticity and scientificity of the manuscript, and put forward specific comments.

(2) The manuscripts should only be evaluated academically and objectively, and should not be aimed at individuals.

(3) Once the article is found to have incorrect views, wrong knowledge, serious duplication, suspected of forging data and other issues, it should be timely fed back to the editorial board.

(4) When there is a conflict of interest with the author or unit of the article under review, it is necessary to declare the conflict of interest to the editorial abroad in time and avoid it.
